Much of the research into diabetes and its management (including using tech) still suffers from the trope of being based on “white guys”. For some years now there have been efforts to make the research populations more diverse, but there is still an imbalance that ignores that facts that women are exposed to different hormone changes than men. And this has been shown to have significant impact on T1 diabetes management.

Yes! It is distressing how ignored this issue is. When I was diagnosed as an adult (woman) no one told me to expect increased/decreased insulin resistance based on my cycle. And when I was pregnant no one gave me an idea of what to expect and when (besides it will get increasingly hard). I had to do a lot of my own research to understand the implications of female hormones on my diabetes.
