Do you want to know more about closed-loop insulin pump systems? Will you be in Sydney this weekend?
This Saturday (20th October 2018) in Millers Point (Sydney) there will be another “DIY build party”, where loopers will get together in a relaxed atmosphere. Nominally it will run from 11am til 2pm, although some people will be meeting beforehand at a nearby café.
It’s in a private venue, so if you are interested in attending please contact Gregg Girling by email or respond to the event in the Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Loop, Loop, LOOP! Facebook group ASAP.
A similar Sydney event was run back in January, and two have been run in Melbourne this year. They’ve all been popular, providing both prospective and existing loopers an in-person experience that’s an extension of the online peer-support community.
It’s an opportunity for people building new systems to help manage their diabetes to bring along their gear and get some help from existing loopers in person, and it’s an opportunity for people considering building their own systems to see what’s involved and to see some of these systems in “Real Life”.
Examples of all the DIY looping solutions (OpenAPS, Loop, and AndroidAPS) will be there.
If you’d like to attend, please let Gregg know ASAP!
I’ll be there too
I will be at this event (with my own system of course) as I’ll be in Sydney anyway (I’m a keynote speaker at the Australian Diabetes Advancements and Technologies Summit the day prior). I’ll be writing up my ADATS experience soon after.
