Back in June Abbott released the LibreLink app in Australia, allowing us to scan the Libre sensors directly into phones. Currently the data read that way can’t be merged with the data read through the Reader device linked to the same sensor, but it offers another connectivity option for users.
This week we’ve seen news about the Libre 2 in Europe. But Abbott Australia can’t talk about the Libre 2 yet as it’s not approved for Australia by the TGA.
Now Abbott Australia is keeping up the news on the “Libre 1”. They’ve released LibreLinkUp, which provides a “follow” function so that friends/family/caregivers can see the results of your latest scans (from LibreLink, obviously – not the Reader).
Connecting up a follower does involve an invitation process, so you can control who gets to see your data.
It is now available in the Australian App and Play Stores, so you no longer need to play games with which international store you connect to!
